Disconnects

Trace DC Disconnect and DC Circuit Breakers
The Trace DC Disconnect comes with a main disconnect circuit breaker and is pre-drilled to accept options listed below. There is room for a second 175Aor 250Adisconnect breaker if your system has two inverters.  There are four knockouts on the sides of the box for 15 amp to 100 amp breakers.  Use the DC Bond Block to connect negative cables.  Use a 175 amp disconnect for the SW4048, DR1512, DR1524, and DR2424.  Use the 250 amp disconnect for the PS2512, SW2512, SW4024, SW5548, the DR2412 or the DR3624.  If you are planning to use a Trimetric meter or any meter that requires a shunt, you can use the shunt as your DC bonding block by adding a 2 hole barrel connector (Inventory ID 50-501-039) to each end of the shunt.

Disconnect Switches
The DC enclosed switches below disconnect the charging source(s) and loads from the battery with the pull of one lever. The AC only units are used as the "lockable disconnect" required by some utilities between the inverter and the meter in intertie systems. Use the high voltage units* for a disconnect between the array and the inverter on high voltage arrays (where needed).
Fusible models use standard Class R cartridge fuses, (which are available on the following page). Enclosures are NEMA1 for indoor use or NEMA 3R for outdoor use. All switches are UL listed and rated for up to 250 volts AC or DC (except where noted). 100 and 200 amp load disconnects are available.

Battery Disconnect Switch
This high current switch is used as a main disconnect between the battery and the main fuse(s) that protect large loads and inverters.  Maximum current capacity is 600 amps continuous and 1000 amps surge.  This switch has a heavy duty polycarbonate cover for panel or flush mounting and heavy duty copper contacts for use on 12 to 32 volt DC systems. Use this switch with a class T fuse and fuse block. Terminals are 7/16" studs.  Connection requires 7/16" or 1/2" ring connectors. UL Listed for marine applications.
