A solar hot water panel converts sunlight directly into hot water. The efficiency of the panels can go as high as 60%, meaning that 60% of the suns energy is converted directly into hot water. A solar hot water panel does not generate electricity, it only harvests heat. The heat is typically harvested by circulating water from the panels to a storage tank. The Turbo Heating Unit acts as this storage tank and allows you to store your thermal energy directly into the unit. A circulation pump is used to pump the cold water out of the bottom of the storage tank, up through the solar panels, which heat the water from direct sunlight and return it to the top of the tank. As the pump circulates throughout the day the sun can raise the water temperature in the storage unit significantly, if sized properly.
