David is the Chairman of the Board and founder of Self-Reliant Living, LLC and Sunrise Solar Co.  He has degrees in horticulture and business.  

Dave has extensive hands-on experience in self-reliance and practices what he preaches. He has lived comfortably off-grid for nine years in a completely independently powered home. This home also includes an amazing alternative heating system, a solar greenhouse, root cellar, raised gardens, solar cooking appliances, and much more.
        
Driven to share the wealth of knowledge he has obtained over his lifetime, Dave is a tireless mentor and teacher.  Dave lives and puts into practice the principles that he teaches. He helped develop the "Turbo Heating System" a unique multi-fuel heating system that provides heat for: homes and businesses, domestic hot water, hot tubs, swimming pools, greenhouses, etc.  It uses any fuel: wood, coal, burnable garbage, natural gas, propane, heating oil, waste oil, electricity, and even sunlight.
